Oh my goodness, this week has just been a roller coaster of emotions and moving craziness. It’s pretty much just been a pile of bad news, but it ended on a high with us finally getting a house! I can’t express how much relief I felt when Casadella called me with the news. It was probably a good thing she did it over the phone because I probably would have hugged her to death if I saw her in person!
Things still are still far from perfect, but I can kinda maybe see the faintest outline of that silver lining that everyone around me has promised me is there. Here’s to hoping next week goes smoothly! It’s crazy to think that I’ll be writing the next Weekend Open Thread from an airport.

– GeekMom was at PAX Prime talking about how to raise happy geeks. There are some real pearls of wisdom in there that I think even non-geek parents could appreciate.
– World of Lae’s Hunter Week is well underway. I confessed that I don’t really ‘get’ hunters. I suspect I’m the minority with that one.
– What would happen if Batman and Superman had a smash with the Avengers? Hint: It does not end how you think it would. I may or may not be having nightmares about the last still…
– Resevoir Dad’s post about morning sickness includes ducks and cupcakes. What could possibly go wrong?!
– Disconcur has immortalised my Hearthstone Beta faux pas as a whiteboard comic. Apparently all Druids are bears with chicken feet. Oh, and we’re all evil. Just so you know.
– While there hasn’t been a 12WBT update this week, I’m happy to report that I’m still losing weight — just not as much as I would if I were still following the program to the letter. This is bitter-sweet, because my old t-shirts are almost too big for me! Which means I could totally buy and wear this Hipster Khaleesi shirt and not look like an overstuffed sausage! Too bad I’m unemployed eh?
Posting may be sporadic for the next few weeks while we finalise the move and get settled into our new place. The removalists estimate that it will take at least three weeks for our stuff to arrive. Yikes! Boy am I glad I have a laptop right now.
